Those of you clamoring for Karl Lagerfeld’s new line–titled simply ‘Karl’–can breath a sigh of relief, because it’s here! The line arrived in select pop-up shops (London, Berlin, Sydney and New York) and on e-commerce phenom Net-A-Porter.com this morning and includes a selection of shoes! They entire line is purposely placed at a lower-price-point (Thank you Kaiser) than Lagerfeld’s couture line… but it could still set you back a pretty penny (The sandals below are priced at $445.) Let us know… do you love the Kaiser enough to shell out $445 for a pair?

Naturally, fashion brands are also pairing up to compete in the latest team competition: collaboration capsule collections. And fresh out of the gate is the announcement of an Adidas and Opening Ceremony collaboration that is sure to wow fashion and sports fans a like.

This 100-piece capsule will include women’s and menswear and footwear, priced from $100-$600, with “elements of swim and cycling with a Nineties streetwear attitude.” If you’re as confused by what this might mean as we are, then you’ll just have to pop into an Adidas or Opening Ceremony store come July.

By: Corrie Shenigo

We here at SoleVine.com like nothing better than a good holiday reason to dress up the day’s look so we couldn’t help but feature a footwear phenom absolutely rife with everything needed to dazzle up the Chinese New Year. Our requirements for the perfect shoe to usher in this Year of the Dragon were as follows:

1. A staggering shade of chinese red? Check.

2. Enough lines, curves and points to embrace the sharp head and tail of the years most celebrated animal. Check.

3. A touch of the traditional. Check.

Jenni Kayne Nubuck Lace Up Heel Bootie

Jenni Kayne’s Nubuck Lace-Up Heel Bootie has all of that in spades. With a pointed high heel and toe and the traditional high lace-up appeal–this bright red boot makes the Chinese New Year grade.

A Story of Springy Stripes: Espadrilles

Mon, Jan 23 | Add A Comment
By: Corrie Shenigo

Trends tend to have the loveliest trickle down effect. It seems the higher-ups (magazine editors, critics, designers) say the word and, as if by magic, that word is translated into dresses, handbags and flirty little footwear. The word for Spring is decidedly stripes.

The Gap's 2012 Floppy Striped Straw Hat

We can think of no better time to roll out the season’s collections of nautical, stripey goodness than when the buds are blooming and the beach starts calling, so we thought we’d feature a few decidedly springy espadrilles adorned in this trendsetting pattern–all of which would perfectly pair with a sun-shielding striped straw hat!

Soludos Barca Striped Flat Espadrille

Soludos Barca Striped Flat is a slip-on fit for the most traditional approach to a navy meets white lined trend.

Tory Burch Karissa Wedge Sandal

Tory Burch’s Karissa Wedge Sandal offers up a touch more structure in the form of a strappy espadrille wedge sandal. Sitting on a 3″ heel with a 1.5″ platform, this raffia-covered cutie is a navy/natural knock-out.

Juicy Couture's Rianna Espadrilles

And if you’re looking for striped with even more sex appeal, slide your pedi’s into Juicy Couture’s Rianna Espadrille. With an upper of navy and something-bordering burlap stripes, this sky-high (3 1/2″ heel and 1″platform) slip-on is just the thing to spice up those sexy spring gams.

Happy Anniversary! Louboutin To Design For Topless Tableau

Sat, Jan 14 | Add A Comment
By: Corrie Shenigo

Earlier in the week we showed you Neiman’s Louboutin sky-high SoCal mural celebrating the brands 20 years in shoe biz, and now it seems Louboutin is set to celebrate in that other type of biz.

Crazy Horse Paris

WWD recently broke the news that Christian Louboutin’s latest anniversary project will be a collaboration with famed Paris cabaret theatre Crazy Horse. Louboutin will create four new scenes for the topless venue’s “Désirs” show, which will be shown between March 5 – May 31. Naturally, the details are top secret, but as this isn’t the first time Louboutin has created shoes for the illustrious Crazy Horse dancers, we have our fingers crossed that it will include some new sky-high heels to drool over.

Bass Loves Rachel Antonoff… Again. (*sigh)

By: Corrie Shenigo

Last December Bass Love’s Rachel Antonoff’s kitten-infused campaign warmed the very cockles of our shoe-loving hearts. This winter is no different, despite the lack of fuzzy-wittle kittehs. (Just sayin’.)

In a well-timed reveal the latest Bass Loves Rachel Antonoff Spring/Summer 2012 lookbook has been unleashed, prepping us for a warm weather carnival. This collection is still heavy on the saddle shoes, this time featuring polka dots and clear panels, but there are also plenty of pretty little dress flats and espadrilles perfect for a day at the fair. Here’s a few sneak peeks:

Miranda Kerr Has A Double Birman Day

By: Corrie Shenigo

It seems the lovely Ms. Miranda Kerr (aka. Mrs. Orlando Bloom) has a thing for another man…

Miranda Kerr in Alexander Birman

No, no… not in that way. We’re talking her love of shoe designer Alexander Birman‘s coveted and super sexy designs. Ms. Kerr was spotted recently elongating her already endless legs with a hand braided coral red leather and snakeskin sandal from Birman’s Spring/Summer 2012 collection; then found later that night at the Qantas Spirit of Australia party in Los Angeles wearing the stunning Gold Peep Toe pumps from Birman’s Fall Collection. That makes it a double-Birman day… but really, shouldn’t that be every day?

Crocs Gains The Upper Hand

Thu, Jan 12 | Add A Comment
By: Corrie Shenigo

Ugly? Yes. But not even close to going away.

Crocs

It seems Project Runway judge Nina Garcia’s hatred for Crocs isn’t the end-all-be-all for the brand. In fact, we bet the perforated multi-coloured plastic clog-makers couldn’t care a lick about Ms. Garcia’s public denouncement. They were to busy laughing… all the way to the bank.

For certainly the Colorado-based brand’s recent announcement that it’s full-year revenue will surpass the $1 billion mark for the first time was enough to soothe any hurt feelings. And if that wasn’t enough, then surely the report from WWD that, upon hearing the news, investors “snapped-up” Croc’s stock, sending the firm’s shares up another 6.3 %, did the trick.

Man Repeller Creates A Smoking Slipper With Del Toro

By: Corrie Shenigo

I just couldn’t help but think about ‘the Hef’ when I spotted this latest blogger-meets-designer collaboration.

2012 Del Toro + Man Repeller Slippers

Man Repeller‘s own Leandra Medine teamed up with famed shoe-maker Del Toro to create a limited-edition pair of the oh-so-functional smoking loafers… (’cause really, what else are you going to wear while smoking?)

The burgundy slip-on’s are adorned with what appear to be one gold and one silver flamigo and have a real-live sole… so hey, from bedroom to boardroom without missing a beat.

Ask yourself… can’t you just see them on this guy? (You know you can.)

Hugh Hefner
