Since I generally feel less than statuesque in my flats (at only 5’4″ who can blame me), these boots have just enough lift at the 2.25″ heel with a secure wide stacked-cowboy heel. A strapped canvas shaft and gusset and pull tab at the top line prove all sorts of pull on comfort without giving up the cool-factor. I can see these paired with a rolled boyfriend jean, summer dress or a simple skinny-legged pant – for a casual cool recovery from the previous weeks wear and tear.

Rodarte Spring Collection

If you’re anything like me, you might want to sit down for this one. It seems earlier this week, Rodarte debuted it’s first footwear collection for the line… and then half of the fashion world fell to their fainting couches.

Eschewing yet another collaboration (remember their Opening Ceremony capsule collection?), the sisters Mulleavy have decided to design their own darn collection of heels, booties and boots. This latest line takes inspiration from tribal prints and geography, including patterns, sand-filled stacked heels, and a metal and leather earthiness for good measure. Not available yet… (boo…) we promise to let you know when you can snap these up, but for now, here’s a little sneak peek eye-candy. Enjoy!

2012 Proenza Schouler Fall Runway

We’ve seen a slew of jaw-dropping shoes at NYC’s 2012 Fall Fashion Week, but honestly the footwear at Proenza Schouler‘s runway show isn’t shy about making a statement. Think utilitarian, heavy and modern and you just might get what we mean. The collection utilizes many of the elements that we see in Schouler’s Fall fashions, especially the masculine elements that appeared in the form of slouchy slacks and oversize jackets. If I have to pick favorites, then I must vote for the glossy riding boot that’s appeared on several runways (Alexander Wang, Altuzzara – Do we smell a trend?) with Schouler’s version sporting a chunky square heel and oversize rim.

And I wouldn’t say say “no” to the high-heeled, leather ankle boot with it’s modern panels of woven checkers, peep-toe and utilitarian over-the-vamp buckles.

Um… Gisele? Did you forget something?

Don’t get me wrong… I love to slip on my flippy-floppies whenever I can, but call me a traditionalist — I can think of about a million other dazzling pumps, wedges and sky-high sandals (even flats) that would look 1 million times better with a flowing evening gown.

Gisele, however likes to play it super casual… at least in her latest add campaign for her Ipanema sandals. The shoe line called “Blossom Sandals Collection” is a super-Springy nature-inspired eco-collection of flip-flops in varying cuts and colors. And while, yes, the collection stays true to it’s theme of nodding to the “delicateness, femininity and the beauty of flowers,” it is way more appropriate for the beach than the ballroom.

Marc Jacob's 2012 NYC Fall Fashion Week Runway

Much has been made of Marc Jacob’s mad-as-a-hatter Fall 2012 runway consisting of an elaborately, twisted runway, oversized hats and (we are not kidding here) the Oliver soundtrack playing in the background – in fact much of it could have come from the Artful Dodger’s closet itself… but never mind. Let’s embrace the madness (momentarily, if you like) and take a peek at the lines glittering array of pilgram-like footwear.

If urban chic is your thing… then Alexander Wang’s 2012 Fall Footwear should pretty much have all your bases covered – as evidenced from this week’s NYC Fashion Week showing. From a stacked, stark ankle boot paired with wide fishnet socks, to a trendy pair of to-the-knee riding inspired boots (of which Wang’s look exceedingly sparse and rigid), to a wide-strapped urban version of a mary-jane — the designers most recent offerings aren’t exactly for the faint of heart. Utilitarian, dramatic and chic, here’s a peek at a few beauties that graced the supermodel-heavy runway (think Shalom, Gisele and Carolina!):

From a golden oxford style flat, to curvy cutout pumps, t-strapped heels to possibly the prettiest offering we’ve seen this season: a beautiful floral printed near-bootie, with a side zip, ankle strap and black pointed leather toe and heel. Yes. Please. And thank you!
